“Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk”

Sometimes the shuffle setting on my iTunes really nails it on the head. Today, while bouncing around randomly through my varied and sometimes weird collection of music, it came to a stop at a song that I love but haven’t listened to in a long time.

I mention it here because the message of the song, and one of its lyrics in particular, pretty much sums up my life as it pertains to this blog. Rufus Wainwright’s “Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk” is a great song, and while it might not literally be talking about the things I go on and on about on this blog, it fits perfectly anyway.

“Everything it seems I like’s a little bit sweeter, a little bit fatter, a little bit harmful for me.” I hear ya, Rufus. I hear ya.
