Ice cream trucks always remind me of being a kid. Hot summer days (well, in Miami it didn’t really matter what season it was, all the days were hot) and the tinkling music that would have everyone scrambling for loose change to then run out the door with to get some ice cream before the truck turned down another corner. Ah, those were the days.
Trucks like those, especially the Mister Softee variety peddling soft serve with sprinkles or flavored syrup, are pretty common around New York, but it was something I saw in a Brooklyn ice cream truck this weekend that took me straight back to the early 90s: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…in ice cream form!
Cherry flavored ice cream with bubble gum eyeballs. It doesn’t get much better than this.
